About Your D.J

COVID 19

Although the country is taking tentative steps along the ‘roadmap to normality’ following the unprecedented situation surrounding the Covid 19 pandemic I have decided to extend the ‘safety net’ period for unseen circumstances, as detailed in the contract, for weddings affected by government restrictions in response to the global situation from SIX months to EIGHTEEN months or SIX months after restrictions are lifted, Whichever is the shortest. I am honouring this period start date until 21st June 2022 one year after restrictions are due to be lifted in England to cover the eventuality of a third wave, something we all hope will not materialise. Once the restrictions are lifted on June 21st 2021 the safety period will return to SIX months unless new restrictions are put in place.

Full details available in my information pack.

This is a brief synopsis of my background as a D.J. Full details are included in my information brochure which is available free of charge and without obligation by Completing my ONLINE FORM

I started working as a ‘roadie’ for other D.J’s who were working the local youth club / under 18’s disco while I was still at school in the late 1970’s. By the early 1980’s, although under age, I had progressed with the same D.J’s to the Pub and Club circuit and would play the warm up set learning valuable lessons in turntable (everything was vinyl back in those days) and microphone techniques.

I did my first solo ‘Gig’ on New Year’s Eve 1983 thanks to fellow D.J’s who loaned me various equipment! In early 1984 I started playing the pubs and clubs that had a ‘full install’, that is to say their own equipment.

By mid 1984 I had put together my first system and aged 17, too young to go clubbing or pubbing I was working that very circuit in the Chelmsford, Brentwood, Braintree and surrounding area.

By the beginning of 1985 I had added private functions to my ever growing list of engagements. I was also supporting an ever increasing stable of high profile D.J’s.

In October 1985 I did my first wedding, the interaction with the audience, the variation of music and the upbeat feel of the evening was like a breath of fresh air. Although the additional work load and the added equipment required for the same money as a ‘normal’ gig was insignificant compared with the feeling of satisfaction I felt at the end of the night when I received my first spontaneous round of applause.
